Am I a nag? Take the 2-minute quiz

Everyone is sure they don't nag. Then they count. Answer honestly (nobody's watching, we promise) and see where you land.

1/10

Your partner says they'll do something "later". You…

am I nagging, or just asking again?

Asking is fine. Asking again is fine too, people forget. It turns into nagging when the same ask keeps coming back with extra seasoning.

  • asking: "can you grab milk on the way home?"
  • asking again: "don't forget the milk!"
  • nagging: "did you forget the milk? of course you did."

Your result is a snapshot of this week, not a label for life. If reminders have become the whole conversation, read when reminders become the whole conversation.

0–6, The Zen One: You ask once and let it go. Either you're genuinely calm or you haven't counted yet. Try the 30-day challenge and prove it.

7–13, The Occasional Nagger: Mostly fine, until a long day, a short night or the same topic for the fourth time. Your nags probably have a pattern. Worth finding out which.

14–20, The Certified Nag (with love): When you start, you don't stop. Good news: you're not a bad partner, you're carrying a lot. The nags are usually a few real topics wearing different outfits. Find them, say them once, properly.

FAQ

What counts as nagging?

Asking for the same thing again and again, often with criticism mixed in. The silent version counts too: the sigh, the cold shoulder, the "it's fine."

Does asking twice count as nagging?

Not really. Asking twice is normal, people forget. It starts tipping into nagging on the third ask, or when the ask comes with a sigh, a dig or an "as usual".

Is nagging always bad?

No. Underneath most nags is a real need, like help, time together or feeling seen. The trick is saying that need once, clearly.

Is this quiz scientific?

No, it's a mirror with a sense of humour. If something in your relationship feels serious or unsafe, please talk to someone you trust or a professional.
